Even though I happily admit I am not the world's biggest football fan (give me rugby, cricket, golf over football!), it is hard not to get carried away with World Cup fever. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the fact that it is in South Africa (homeland of our chiropractor Nina) seems to make it even more special. As well as the controversial 'Vuvuzela', the whole African style of celebrating seems to really be infectious. It also seems to have a deeper meaning. Its very soul warming to see the feeling of hope staging such a massive event brings to a country with such a turbulent recent history, as well as to see different cultures mixing and celebrating together.
For any footie fans out there (or just general sports fans), lets remind you that Mark Findlay, one of our two sports therapists, offers a fantastic sports massage as well as sports therapy for specific injuries. Mark has a particular interest in football injuries, working as the physio for semi-professional Hendon FC. He also recently completed a week long resident course on football injuries at Lilleshall Football academy, the training centre for the England football team. So, book up now!!!
